  6. Re: Wandalaput Interview Posted (426)

  7. I can see Wandalaput does make a lot o people sad... poor of them, what are they doing here? Do they come to show pity and shame because they're afraid of what they are? This man knows exactly what he wants and he's one of the few who got the guts to do what they want in life... Most people don't understand that being degraded and abused it's just another way of enjoying life. All those comments about how sad Wandalaput makes some fainted hearts are just the same old comments that us, the modified ones, hear everyday from the 'normal' people out there on the streets... This man is praiseworthy just because he dares to be honest with himself without a human mask. Most of us will die with that mask on... By the way, how are we supposed to contact him without an e-mail address or a phone? I'd really like to...

  8. Re: "Michelle, the pass around girl" (424)

  9. and i just read what lucky tattoo had to say: look at our culture today- I love the idea of a sexual revolution but it is all focused in the wrong direction we should abolish ideas like slut and whore.... we are so concerned with turning ourselves into objects for mens use that we forget that we should be questioning this. This is nothing more than getting down on our knees and submitting disguised as some sort of 'step forward' for women. this is not moving forward.... this is nothing more than materialism realized. ... we can now not only be 'labeled' as a slut for being sexually free but we can actually brand ourself so we aren't so hard to find anymore... this is disgraceful

  10. Re: Interview with Toph (416)

  11. Depends on your body, but you can stretch faster then that, this is going to sound stupid but I stretched and downsized fast, so I knew I stretched easily. I went swimming in a creek with a newly stretch ear (bad idea) and it got infected. I took out the jewelry and it went from 1" down to 8g in about 12 hours. So I knew I stretched easy, once it healed I was back up to 28mm in 3 weeks :D Stupid I know, but it works for me, I have healthier ears then my friend who has taken 2 years to get to 22mm

  18. Re: Unlikely but True: Achilles Piercing (278)

  19. Fantastic to see jobs like this, they are special in their extremity. Work like this goes hand in hand with trans-scrotals and lingual bifurcation, erring on the extreme, definitely risky, and god-bless trying to find the punter with the bollocks to do it in the first. - I'd have to agreeably mention that it would be a major inconvenience, what with it no doubt banging into things on the daily, I had enough problems with a double dermal anchor bindi, catching on jumpers and whatnot. Amazing he's not made a cripple out of himself especially considering that it's right sodding next to the man's Achilles, but to see photos of him doing so much with it's pretty damn cool. - But for people to say that such things ought not be done is presumptuous and trifle rude, considering the fact that it's his sodding leg, if he wants to nail a railway spike through it, that's on him. - And to say that if these things aren't done in our societies, that the 'Rebel Industry' will 'die out', is a bit provincial, and as Aaron said in so many words, is almost criminally reckless. The techniques of body modification that have been so popularized, sterilized, anodized, spayed and neutered so effectively by our industrialized culture, have in point of fact been around for many thousands of years, and that in point of fact we have learned how these things are done from other cultures who've come before us (and are still around...), and did not ourselves invent anything new. We are therefore, not endowed with the power to 'let' this rebellious industry decay, or otherwise die out by any means, as we have actually done nothing 'New', though we may change the means by which old techniques are performed, giving the appearance that it is evolving into something as yet undiscovered. - Didactic commentary aside, good work, and good show.

  28. Re: Amputation Interview Posted (234)

  29. Are all you all out of you f*ing mind? People who actually suffer from amputations would kill to have their original body back. This is the most disrespectfull and disgusting thing I have ever seen or heard. Guys like that should be beaten to death with a lead pipe. Not to mention the lifetime of lies to a woman who's probably very unlucky to have a mutilated handicapped husband, but ruins her life because of guilt and afraid of what other people would think if she would divorce an amputee. You don't think people will mind? Go hang yourself you sick nutsack

  50. Re: Oh, that's much more appealing... (208)

  51. I worked at KFC for about 13 months, mostly at the age of 15. I noticed a few girls had their nostrils pierced, so I brought it up with the manager and she said that it wouldn't be a problem, so I went ahead and had it pierced. About a month later, new rule, no jewellry at all, including lobes. Being a bit oblivious at the time, I took it out for a few hours to work, and was allowed to go to the bathroom every 30 minutes or so to put it in and out, to avoid closing up. This became really painful, so I invested in a retainer. No one noticed, except for one supervisor, who made me take it out. A day short of my 16th birthday, I had my other nostril pierced, and on the same day, got a new job as a check-out chick at Coles. I originally wore the retainer in one of them, then forgot one day, and I was complimented on how nice and symmetrical they looked all day.

  52. Re: On Eyelid Microdermals, ModBlog and Turning Body Modification Into a Contest. (208)

  53. In Lane's defense, he's pierced me and nothing has gone wrong, I do agree that it was kinda stupid that he did a micro dermal on this girls eye lid. BUT he is obviously still a great piercer... In fact, he is the only one I trust. Good blog though.

  62. Re: BME's Big Question: #1 (187)

  63. i do think as others do that it is not as simple a question. there is no basic answer. i would say it does depend on the type of customer base the particular studio owner is trying to reach out to as well as how attractive the modifications are. we all wear clothes. some have no clue how to dress themselves well and come across as slobs well on the other hand some can make a rather overbearing style look absolutely beautiful. it is the same with body modification. we are dressing ourselves in a more permanent sense. the placement, conditions of the modifications, and jewelry can go in either direction. one who has a good sense of what looks good will appear far more presentable than a person with chopped up teflon nostril plugs and batteries through their lobes. i think though it all comes down to the owners particular veiw on what will be accepted in their community. i also, as allen mentioned, think that intelligentence, manners, knowledge, and good self confidence may over shadow one who is very heavily modded and allow them to get into a studio that may usually look past these individuals.

  78. Re: What happens in Indonesia, stays in Indonesia (170)

  79. What I'm wondering, why in the hell this blogger put the title Indonesia with such unacceptable picture attached. This is really disgusting and it has nothing to do with the Indonesian since even the guy in the picture not even looks like Indonesian. I'm as Indonesian would like to clarify who are this blogger? and where do you got this picture from? can you prove the place, the time and the original author of this picture? We can sue you for this mis-conduct and mis-information, especially by relating unrelated picture with our country nation Indonesia. Please take out your picture and title if you can't prove things I have mentioned above, this is really jeopardize act of particular nation and you must be responsible for the any mis-interpretation by any audience by looking this kind of picture. Thanks !!!! Budi

  83. That is not cool. What the fuck. Poor rat. If you wanna pierce an ear then pierce YOUR ear. Not your smelly little pet rats. What if you where a little rat and your giant moron owner stabbed you with a needle? You would be PISSED. And not know why they did that. Death to you.

  86. Re: Now that's an explicit tattoo! (160)

  87. Congrats Shannon for underscoring the freedom of expression of body art, that both makes your spirit happy and bring amazement and fair debate with people around you, not to mention opening their minds that another man's coffee is another man's cup of tea. I love the different blue colors on your right sleeve, I love the sky and that tattoo bit of the sky is great... a nice alternative to blackwork.

  88. Re: As if getting killed and eaten wasn't bad enough! (157)

  89. Not seen it on the ears, but shoulders is quite common. It marks the pigs with their farm of origin before going on to slaughterhouses (or where ever). It's done with a pattern of nails that form the head of a handle. It's smacked in ink and then onto the pig, a bit like a hammering type action. Very quick, and with a good stockman/aim less stressful than the act of moving them on itself.

  92. Re: Interview with GC and Duff Posted (152)

  93. I wish I had the guts of these people. Duff does look pretty incredible, in my opinion. I didn't read enough of the posts to know whether she is (or was?) 16 after all, but either way, good karma to her. Likewise to G.C.: considering how long he should have to live, 5 or 10 years here or there won't make much impression on what he'll have to put up with, or what he'll get out of his *ace* lipage. I wish I had the guts of these people. Or, rather, I wish I had the single-mindedness to be away with the need for 'guts'. Ha. In hindsight, I sort of wish I'd cut into my lip when I was 16. (oh the irony) Keep up the good work Shannon.

  98. Re: Consensual Female Circumcision (146)

  99. I know I'm coming late to the party here, but from the feminist camp, here are my thoughts: The problem is less the individual mod than the cultural pattern behind it. I think the reason so many women have an automatic "saying people 'should get this done' is WRONG" reaction is because there is a very, very long history of the cultural female body being something shameful and dirty that ought to be cleaned up in any way possible. Female circumcision, menstruating women being 'unclean', even our recent epidemic of eating disorders, the predominance of a porn aesthetic in society... these all fit into a millenia-long pattern that says women should be pliant cock receptacles that do not take up space, have no 'extraneous bits' (i.e. bits that are not specifically for male usage), etc. A mod that caters to such a long social history is difficult to endorse. While I understand that BME is all about what an individual wants to do with his or her body, and in no way am I saying that this particular instance was a case of the woman being pressured into it, mods don't exist in a vacuum. It's why there's a difference, in my thinking, between breast augmentation and scarification in terms of body mods.
